There is a wide range of alternative photo processes – many of them come from the dawn of photography. Techniques, working methods, and materials chosen for a job will have a great impact on the resulting print’s appearance and our perception of the image content. There were different light-sensitive materials used in early processes: metallic compounds (silver, gold, iron, platinum, palladium) as well as dichromated colloids (such as gum arabic)... and even crushed flower petals. Nowadays, also modern technology like digital negatives can be used with antique processes, maintaining the prints' originality and unique appearance.
